NEXT – SNOWDROP PROCESS
Passwords for all Snowdrop files will be the date specified on the file itself. Correct format is 15072019
Files required before starting the process – These will be found in the macro folder, the previous weeks SNOWDROP will be found in the previous weeks ticket and the NEW snowdrop.

Upload_Next
Open last week’s SNOWDROP and the ‘NEXT’ file.
NOTE: If you did the process the previous week you will not need to copy last weeks
snowdrop into the current users tab.
Copy last weeks SNOWDROP into the ‘NEXT’ file under the ‘Current Users’ tab.
NOTE: Make sure there is no filters active
Save (the OLD snowdrop can now be closed).
Open the new SNOWDROP file (this will usually have a date on it) and the ‘SNOWDROP’ file.
Copy the recent SNOWDROP into the ‘SNOWDROP’ file
Save (Close the recent snowdrop – the one with the date on it).
Go back to the ‘NEXT’ file – Navigate to the ‘Dictionary’ tab and click the UPDATE UM button
This will now run the macro. If you haven’t already got it open the file named ‘Upload_Next’ will now open.
Things to look out for
ALL advisors should have Next Frontline_Advisor_1000 and Next_Advisors_1000 profiles
ALL Team Managers should have Next Frontline_General_1000 and Next_TeamManagers_1000 profiles
Team Managers should report into a “Department ghost user” - *Department is identified by the advisors department that report to that Team Manager*
Any users that aren’t an advisor should have the reports to field removed/blanked UNLESS they are a team manager in which case refer to the previous point regarding ghost users.
Ensure there is no duplicate usernames in the Upload_Next file. In some cases, there will be a delete action and create action. It is easier to check what the differences are whether that be a report to change or, often, a username change. It is much easier to do this in V1 and then remove them from the Upload_Next file. Example below.
Once you have the Upload_Next File, complete a full Export from User Management V2, and ensure there are no duplicate full names.
Once completed save the Upload_Next file and send, via sendsafely, to Jules at Next (Julie_Makin-Duncan@next.co.uk).

Notes will be in red if anything is incorrect and will need to be updated as per the notes.
If there are any users to delete from User Management – complete an update on them first to remove any Reports to Values, then run a delete upload. (This can be done manually if only a few, or via a batch import).
Once complete – Delete the additional tab Julie has created (Upload JMD), save the file and upload into UM. Bearing in mind that passwords will need to be added to the spreadsheet if you have creations.
