Initial Zitadel setup for existing mCommons users (one-time email verification and MFA setup)
This topic explains how first-time users can complete their initial setup to log in to mCommons using Zitadel authentication.
Overview
mCommons now uses Zitadel for secure login and 2-factor authentication. This means:
• Enhanced security for your account.
• A simple and consistent login experience.
Note: New users are not created automatically in Zitadel. If you add a new user to the mCommons platform, contact Support to complete the user setup and enable login access.
Login Process
1. Open the mCommons login page in your browser.
2. On the login screen, enter the email address associated with your mCommons account.
3. Click NEXT.
You will be redirected to the Zitadel authentication page.
4. Enter your mCommons Login Name (Username).
5. Click Next.
To verify your email address, a verification code will be sent to your email.
6. Enter the code in the Code field.
Note: If you do not receive the code, click Resend Code at the bottom-left of the page.
7. Create and confirm a new password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields, following the password guidelines shown on the screen.
8. Click Next.
After successful verification, a confirmation message appears: “Your email address has been successfully verified.”
9. Click Email.
10. Enter the password you just created in the Password field.
11. Click Next.
Note: To reset your password, click Reset Password at the bottom-left of the page.
12. To setup 2-factor, select an authenticator application (for example, Microsoft authenticator app).
13. Click Next.
14. Download an authenticator application. For 2-factor verification, enter the verification code from your selected authenticator application.
You can also scan the code with your authenticator application or copy the secret and insert the generated code in the Code field.
After successful 2-Factor verification, the initial 2-Factor setup is complete.
15. Click Next.
Enter the code from your authenticator application to verify 2-Factor while you log in to mCommons.
16. Click Next.
After successful authentication, you will be redirected to the mCommons Dashboard.
