September 2026
Survey Builder Phase 3 - Design and Tagging
Survey Builder Phase 3 went live on 8 September, giving you more control over how your surveys look and how you organise them. You can now show or hide the header strip while keeping your logo, set header transparency and pick an exact colour visually, apply tags to organise your surveys, and pass a webpage parameter through Listening Post survey URLs so you can see which page a respondent came from. The Configuration panel has been updated to the current design standard, and every survey now ends with a confirmation page.
For more information, see Survey Manager.
Security Improvements
Further security improvements have been applied across the platform to strengthen how content is served and how supporting services are maintained. These changes were applied automatically and require no action from your team.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Background Colour and Logo being incorrectly treated as mandatory fields in survey Design Settings.
August 2026
Secure File Transfer - Key-Based Authentication
Our file transfer service now supports SSH key-based authentication as an alternative to passwords. Key-based authentication is more secure and removes the need to rotate and share passwords, which is particularly useful for automated, scheduled file transfers.
Existing password-based connections continue to work as before, so no action is required. If you would like to move your file transfer integration to key-based authentication, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
Security Improvements
We have made a number of improvements to strengthen security across the platform, covering how services authenticate and how administrative areas are accessed. These changes were applied automatically and require no action from your team. There is no change to how you use the platform day to day.
July 2026
File Submit+ Phase 2 - Redesigned Validation Page
The File Submit+ validation page has been rebuilt so you can correct a file without leaving the page. You can now edit individual cells and rows in place, use find and replace to fix a recurring error across the whole file, search and filter by row status, delete rows singly or in bulk, and download the validated file. Row statuses are highlighted so problem records stand out immediately, and you can submit a file partially rather than waiting for every row to pass.
For more information, see File Submit+.
Dashboard V2 Update
A "Last 24 Hours" option has been added to the quick date filters, making it faster to check same-day feedback without setting up a custom date range.
Bug Fixes
Fixed survey page header buttons breaking or misaligning when the browser window is resized.
Standardised button colours and corrected padding throughout Survey Builder.
Fixed the File Submit+ submit button remaining disabled when only "Ready" and "Data" rows were present.
June 2026
Dashboard V2 Update
You can now export the full set of field values for an individual piece of feedback. A download option has been added to the Fields panel in the message details view, which exports all fields and their values as a CSV file. Previously only the comment itself could be downloaded, so sharing a corrected record with a branch or manager meant copying values out by hand.
For more information, see Navigating the Dashboard - Messages.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the Undelete Feedback function in the Admin App failed to load deleted feedback for some projects.
Fixed misaligned field, question and title headers in Survey Builder.
Fixed padding on question boxes in Survey Builder not lining up with the field.
Fixed the "Create New Task" label overlapping in Safari.
Fixed searching so that it is no longer case-sensitive.
May 2026
Survey Manager Phase 2 - Conditional Logic
Survey Manager Phase 2 went live on 26 May, letting you control which questions a respondent sees based on how they answered earlier ones. Use the Survey Logic button to open the rules editor, or Add Logic beside an individual question to jump straight to that question's rules. Each rule sets a condition and a Skip To destination, and where several rules point at the same destination they combine with OR. The conditions available adapt to the field type behind the question.
Conflicting rules are flagged with a CONFLICT label on the affected question and a count at tab level, and a survey cannot be saved until they are resolved. In preview and in the live survey, questions appear and hide as answers are given, the flow re-evaluates if a respondent changes an earlier answer, and the progress bar adjusts to reflect only the pages they will actually see.
The same release adds a footer, configured in its own section and applied to every page, which can be switched on or off and holds up to 200 words. The builder toolbar and page navigation have been simplified, and deleting a page now asks you to confirm. Page reordering has been removed, so pages stay in the order they are created.
Creating or updating a survey now requires a metadata field named workflow on your project. The survey name is written into this field with each response so you can identify which survey the feedback came from.
For more information, see Survey Manager.
Survey Builder Field Type Support
Filterable String and Timestamp fields can now be used as survey questions. Filterable String questions render as radio buttons or a dropdown depending on how many options you have configured, with an Other option on the dropdown, and Timestamp questions render as a date selection. Both work with conditional logic and with existing validation.
March 2026
Dashboard V2 Update
Dashboard V2 now allows users to view the Sentiment Score field in the message panel table. Like other fields, it can be toggled on or off from view and moved within the table as needed.
Alert Management Redesign
The Alert Management area has been given a fresh, modern look and feel. The layout and visual design of the Create Alert flow — including the empty state, tabs, and shared elements — have been updated to feel more consistent and polished. All existing functionality remains exactly the same; this was purely a design improvement.
Message Summary Redesign
The Message Summary panel within the Messages tab has been given a refreshed layout and visual design, bringing it in line with the rest of the Dashboard. All existing functionality remains exactly the same; this was purely a design improvement.
Sentiment Engine Upgrade
Clearer, more accurate sentiment scoring is now available. A major upgrade has been rolled out to the Rant & Rave sentiment engine, moving overall sentiment scoring to an advanced AI language model. This upgrade dramatically improves how feedback is interpreted, scored, and explained, with no action required from your team.
Why This Matters
Until now, overall sentiment scoring relied on more rigid language patterns, which made it harder to consistently interpret nuanced, conversational feedback. The new engine better understands context, intent, and tone, resulting in more accurate and reliable sentiment scores.
What You’ll Notice
With the upgraded sentiment engine, you’ll see:
- Context-aware sentiment scoring – Informal and nuanced language is interpreted correctly. For example, “Unreal service!” is recognized as positive feedback.
- Score explanations – Every overall sentiment score now includes a clear, plain-language explanation of why it was assigned.
- More confident, consistent results – Fewer edge cases and less time spent second-guessing sentiment across surveys, reviews, and open-text feedback.
- More decisive overall scoring – We now analyze the overall sentiment of each piece of feedback holistically, rather than deriving sentiment solely from individual topics mentioned within it.
- Fewer “neutral” classifications – Feedback that previously appeared neutral now more accurately reflects whether sentiment is positive or negative.
- A clearer picture of customer opinion – More accurate overall sentiment gives you stronger insight to act with confidence.

How Sentiment Is Scored
Rant & Rave uses multiple sentiment analysis methods, each serving a different purpose.
Rant & Rave generates a single overall sentiment score to track sentiment trends over time. It also applies sentiment at the Insight and Topic level to support topic detection and deeper analysis. All insight and topic sentiment tuning configured through Local Knowledge remains unchanged.
What's Next
This is just the beginning of our sentiment analysis improvements. We're currently working on enhancements that will help you:
- Identify topics within feedback more accurately.
- Surface insights that are more relevant to your business.
- Spot trends and issues faster.
We'll keep you updated as these improvements roll out.
What You Need to Do
Nothing. The upgrade rolls out automatically on 2 March 2026. Your data, workflows, dashboards, and integrations remain unchanged. Improved scoring and explanations apply to feedback received after launch.
Contact your Customer Success Manager with any questions or reach our team at rr_support@mobilecommons.com for additional support.
This upgrade makes Rant & Rave an even stronger partner in understanding and responding to your customers.
