Provided information on Profiles
Answer
Mobile Commons automatically creates a Profile for anyone who has interacted with your account. That’s true regardless of whether or not they are a current subscriber. For example, Mobile Commons creates a profile for anyone who subscribes to an Active Campaign (such as by texting in to join); for those who call into an mConnect number; if someone queries an mData; of if someone makes a mobile donation.
The components of a Mobile Commons Profile include:
- Standard Fields: Fields include email, name, and address.
- Custom Fields: You can add custom fields to capture information that is important to your company or organization. For example, if you wanted to know a user’s favorite kind of animal, you could have a field that marked Favorite Animal.
- Legislators: If your account has the advocacy feature enabled, you can view legislative information on profiles – for example, who his or her Congressional representative is. The more address information we have on a profile, the more complete the legislative information will be.
- Subscriptions: You are able to view which Active Campaigns the profile has subscribed to, if they are currently opted-in or opted-out of those campaigns, when they joined and how they joined. If they are currently opted-in and you would like to opt them out of a given campaign, you can click the red “x” to opt-them out. If they are opted-out and you would like to opt them in, you can click the green arrow to opt them in.
Note: when loading the profile page, only the current subscription in each campaign will show up. To load the history of subscriptions in each campaign, we need to hit the "Click to load subscription history" button.
- Subscribe to Campaign: If you would like to subscribe a given profile to another Active Campaign, you can choose a campaign or opt-in path from the dropdown and click the ‘Subscribe’ button. If a campaign is selected, no text message will be sent. They will just be subscribed to future messages in that campaign. If an opt-in path is selected, the user will immediately receive the first text message in that opt-in path.
- Messages: You can see all of a user’s interactions in Mobile Commons, including: messages they have sent and received, what Campaigns those messages were a part of, and the date and time they were sent or received.
- Web Clicks: If you send out shortened, trackable URLs in your text message, you can see which links this user has clicked, the browser they used, and when they clicked.
- Text this Person: If you need to send a message to only this user, you can type the message in the speech bubble, choose which Campaign the message is coming from and click send. This option is only available for users who are currently opted in.
A note about subscribing people to Campaigns from their Profile: You should use good judgment with this feature. Obviously, you should never sign people up for messaging they did not intend to receive. This capability exists for two reasons. First for people who contact you via another medium and ask to be opted in or opted out. Second because you may be cleaning up or condensing your active campaigns as time goes by and need to move profiles around to maximize your use of the platform.
Profiles Sub-Tab
The Profiles sub-tab displays all the profiles in your Mobile Commons account.
On the profiles page you can sort by predetermined filters.
Filters
Please note that these are not mutually exclusive-you may have, for example, a profile be an active subscriber and pending subscription.
All: See all the profiles in your Mobile Commons Account.
Active Subscribers: See only those profiles subscribed to Active Campaigns.
No Subscriptions: See those profiles who are not currently opted in to any Active Campaign.
Pending Subscription: users who have not confirmed their subscription (applicable to double opt-ins)
Undeliverable: See all profiles that contain phone numbers that can’t receive text messages.
- "Undeliverable-Texted a STOP word"--the user texted a STOP word (STOP, END, CANCEL, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, etc.) and was opted out
- "Undeliverable-Hard Bounce"--the phone is not a mobile number or we have received an error code from our aggregator indicating that the number cannot receive text messages
- "Undeliverable - Opt-out from profile"--the profile was opted out manually from the profile page
- "Undeliverable - Opt-out from Inbox"--the profile was opted out manually from the inbox
- "Undeliverable - Phone was Deactivated"--the profile was deactivated by the phone carrier.
- "Undeliverable - Manual Opt-Out"
- "Undeliverable - Blacklisted"
First Seen Filters
You can also filter by the way in which the profile was first seen in your Mobile Commons account:
- Opted In: See all profiles that came in to your account by joining an Active Campaign.
- Uploaded Group: See profiles that came in to your account through a CSV upload. Called mConnect: See profiles that were first seen in your account by calling into an mConnect.
- Used mData: See profiles that first interacted with your account by using an mData.
- Donated: See the profiles that were first seen in your account by making a Mobile Donation.
Exporting your Profiles
You can click the ‘Save as CSV’ button to download a spreadsheet of your profiles, or any filtered list of profiles. In this CSV profiles labelled with "Active Subscriber" means a profile that is not opted out AND has existing subscriptions (whether or not active) AND is not blacklisted AND is not un-textable AND is not pending confirmation. Fully opted out profiles are give a status of "Undeliverable" and profiles with no subscriptions are given a status "Profiles with no Subscriptions."
