Mobile Commons: Mobile Commons User Types
Resolution Summary
Provided information on Mobile Commons User Types
Answer
Mobile Commons offers a number of user types. If you are an Account Editor you can create additional User Types dependent upon the roles you need your team members to take.
To create additional users you can go to the top right of the platform and select your name. You'll see "Company & Users". If you click on "new user" you will be able to set the type of login for a new user under "User Roles".
Types of Users
1) Analyst: Unchecking all boxes creates an analyst or read only user type. This user type can view all reports & content but can take no actions.
2) Account Editor: the highest level "An account editor can add, delete, and edit users in this account". NOTE: you must assign the Editor role with this role in order to gain full access.
3) Editor: the 2nd highest level "Editors can create campaigns and send messages. Non-editors can only view reports; they can not editor or update any data"
4) Limit to Campaign Editor Role: this user type is limited to the campaigns you assign them to in the "Limit Access to the Following Campaigns"; you should read our article on this user type for more information, as well as below, "7) Limit Access..."
5) Broadcasts Require Approval: when this user creates a broadcast an Editor must approve them. Can be used in conjunction to Campaign Editor Role
6) Agent View Only: "This user can ONLY access Agent View and can not see any PII. "Editor" setting must also be set to true, or else Agents can't send responses.
NOTES: - Creating a user on a main account with any level of access -except for Limit Access to the Following Campaigns- will gain the user access to both main and sub account/s. On the other hand, creating a user with any level of access on a sub account will limit this user’s access to the sub-account it was created on.
- To adjust an email address for an active MC user, you will need to first deactivate the user, make adjustments, then re-activate the user again.
Email Preferences
At the bottom of the user configuration page, you can set the email preferences for the email notifications the platform supports (Email notification for new incoming messages, new opt-ins, etc)
Deactivating a user:
You can deactivate a user by clicking the "Delete user" user button (Screenshot below). This will NOT permanently delete the user, it will only deactivate it and can be later re-activated. You will need to reach out Mobile Commons team to re-activate a previously deactivated user.
Reactivating an inactive user:
To reactivate an inactive user, you will need to reach out to the MC team either by reaching out directly to your CSM or through MC support (mc-support@uplandsoftware.com), let us know the users to be reactivated and we will be happy to help with that.
