Resolution Summary

added ability to be able to send a text message to a mobile number which can be typed in or copy and pasted

Details

Sometimes users are not able to send a text message to a number they type or copy and paste, they are only able to use contacts or lists on the directory which is set up for their account.

This could be because the Company does not want their users to do this so any change that is to be made to a user such as this then this has to be on the authority of an administrator

1. Go to Red Admin
2. Monitoring
3. Maintain Subscriber
   
4. Click on the dropdown arrow and enter the company name in select a subscriber
5. link to subscriber
6. Go to Administration
7. Users
8. Update a user
   
9. Type in the first and surname
10. Click find
11. Click on the pencil on the right of the person you need to amend
12. Scroll down and check to see the status of Change Contacts
13. If this is no then this needs changing to Yes as this is what the issue is
14. Save
15. Log out and into RA
16. Enter the company name and the users surname and find
17. Go to User Settings
18. Display User settings
19. Copy the username and password and put onto notepad
20. Log out of RA
21. Log into User desktop
22. Paste in the usrname and password
23. Once in the account go to text
24. New text
25. try and type something in the Mobile No box
26. Click Add number
27. The number should then appear in the recipeint box
    
28. If this is the case then you have correctly added the feature to the user
29. Log out of the account
