Resolution Summary
Set up the new user and sent their log in credentials directly to them
Details
Log in to RA as a random user for the company you are to set your new user in
- On the menu on the left you will see
- Administrator Details
- It is only one of these people who have Administration access who can authorise a new user set up
- If the request you received is not from one of those people then you must ask the requester to gain an email from one of the Administrators authorising that this person is set up
- Log into Red Admin to set up the new user (do not do it from the administrators account in RA is because sometimes it does not give the new user all they need)
- In Red Admin go to Monitoring on the left
- Maintain Subscriber
- In the Select a subscriber box click on the dropdown to find the Company required
- Click Link to Subscriber
- Click on Administrator
- Users
- Add a User
- Type in the new Users first name. Surname.email address and mobile number (if provided)
- In PinNumber type in any four digit number
- Repeat this number in Confirm PinNumber
- Ensure that Select a User Type is showing as Normal user
- That Admin Type is showing No Admin
- That RA subscriber is chosen as Yes
- That Desktop is selected as Yes
- At the bottom of the screen untick the box which says send Initial welcome E-Mail (this does not work correctly as some companies see this as spam, so we dont send the log on details from here)
- Click Save
- Go back into RA
- Enter the company name
- Enter the surname of the newly set up user and Click Search
- Click on the name of the new User you have just set up
- Click on User Settings in the Menu on the left
- Click on Display User Settings
- You will then see the User Name and the Password
- Copy those details
- Go to send safely in Jumpcloud
- Click on Send Items
- Click on Add Message and paste in the user details into there, removing any additional spaces which might be arround the log on details
- Type in or copy and paste the email address for the USER you have just set up from their account or the email
- Click on submit
- This will then come up with a link
- Copy this and click on the button on the right
- Do a side conversation off the ticket to the new user and paste this link in there asking them to follow this to pick up their log on details for Rant & Rave
- Reply to the main email advising the email sender that you have set up the new user and sent their log on details to them directly
