Remote sms is set up on a users procomms desktop account but the texts are initiated using the users  REGISTERED mobile handset - this means that they can send a text message to preset up lists or individuals who are set up in the users remote settings area on their Desktop account.

A users mobile number has to be entered against their User record

• Go to Red Admin
• Go to Monitoring
• Go to Maintain Subscriber
• find the company required and click on link to subscriber once selected
• Choose Administration
• Users
• Update a User
• Type in the first and surname of the person who requires remote sms
• Click find
• Click on the pencil to the right of their record
• Ensure that their mobile number is entered against the mobile authentication area
  
  
• Click on Save

Allocate lists which are to be used for this users Remote SMS

• Go to RA
• Type in the company name and surname of the users
• Click search
• Click on the User Name
• Click on text on the left hand side menu
• Click on Remote set up
• *In the Text remote set up box click on Select a list dropdown and find the first list which is required to be able to send a remote text directly from the users phone to, and click on it
• Click add to the right
• The click Save at the bottom
  
  
• If more lists are required then repeat the process from *
• The number showing to the right of the lists which have been added are the list numbers which will be used when sending a remote text so the user will need to know which order the lists are set up and what number allocated to each

To send a remote text

This can only be used if the handset which the user is to send the text from is registered and lists have been set up against this user as above

• From the registered handset the user opens up a new text message
• In the body of the text message they type the list number followed by a space and then types the message eg 1 Good morning
• The number which the user then sends the message to is either 8708 from a Vodafone handset of 07786201747
• They click on send
• The user will then receive a text message back to their handset which will say Message sent successfully to the (the name of the distribution list) so that the sender knows that this has been sent
