Reported concern from the client:
I sent out two broadcasts on 7/9 and when looking at the reports this morning, the click rates were incredibly high. At first I was excited, and then I got suspicious. This webinar invite had a 5.3% click rate from 5,345 clicks and usually our webinars have around 1.0% click rate for this kind of audience.

Because of a failed broadcast on 7/8, I resent a survey to only Eastern Time Zone subscribers https://secure.mcommons.com/campaigns/145991/broadcasts/2577728/report . The click rate for this was 5X the click rate for the first send, and the completion rate of the survey did not correlate with that kind of increase. (656 clicks vs 130 clicks for almost identical audience size).
Troubleshooting/Resolution:
- Checked the timing of the clicks, and confirmed they were all made after the message was actually received by the handset.
- I compared the clicks for this recent broadcast to older ones in terms of how fast the users click the link after the message is received. The data seems consistent. I'm seeing a lot of clicks created a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes after receiving the messages.
- Most importantly, I checked the logs and confirmed that the clicks for the broadcasts in question were created through the browser app. on the recipients' phones. Meaning they were clicked and then opened by the phone's browser.
