Provided information on Mobile Commons Inbox
Answer
The Mobile Commons Inbox (Home > Text Messaging > Inbox) displays all of your incoming messages. It also allows you to search, save .csv, save your search, manually opt-out, message a profile 1:1, and export your MMS. Additionally, there are buttons to change the moderation status for an mCast.
- The content of the message.
- The message type, such as whether it’s a keyword or a reply.
- A link to the Profile of the user who sent the message – represented as their name or their phone number, depending on what information you know.
- The Active Campaign that the message came into.
- The date/time the message was received.
Searching the Inbox
In addition to seeing your incoming messages as they arrive, you can also run a filtered Search of the Inbox.
Inbox Filters:
- Search: Type any word or phrase into the search box to find every incoming message that matches that word or phrase.
- Boolean Operators: within the search bar you may include boolean operators to help you return a more relevant set of search results. You can use &, |, (), and !. & means AND, this brings back results that include two words. | means OR and brings back any results that have either of the words. ! means not and will return results without a word-this is useful in conjunction with other words for example "endangered ! species" would bring back results that say endangered, but none with the word species in them. () tells the platform what to search for first and then applies any other parameters; you may use other operators inside of the ().
- Campaign: See just the message relating to individual campaigns.
- Sort by: Organize your messages by “newest first”, “oldest first” or “approval time.”
- Icons (Opt-In, Opt-Out, Reply, etc.): Filter by one or more message types by checking the checkbox of the corresponding icon.
- Arrived After: Search for messages that came in after a certain date/time. Click into the box, choose the date/time you want, and then click ok and then Search. Used in concert with the Arrived Before function, the Arrived After function lets you narrow in on a group of messages within a timeframe.
- Arrive Before- Search for messages that came in before a certain date/time. Click into the box, choose the date/time you want, and then click ok and then Search. Used in concert with the Arrived After function, the Arrived Before function lets you narrow in on a group of messages within a timeframe.
Note: We adjusted the default range to query the incoming messages for the last 30 days instead of querying the full list when navigating to the inbox page. This is to improve the loading performance of the inbox page and to avoid time-out issues. You can later adjust the date range to query the messages within a different range.
Other Inbox Search Functions
You’ll also find a few other functions related to search along the top of the Inbox:
- Save as CSV: Save any searches as a csv.
- Manual Opt-Out: Perform a bulk opt-out of users.
- Outbox: View your outgoing messages.
- Saved Searches: View your saved searches
- Save Search: Save any of your filtered searches. This allows you to quickly and easily search along the same criteria in the future.
- MMS Export: allows you to export all the MMS files individually. File name will include phone number, date and campaign name. Upon selecting the MMS button as a search parameter you will have this option appear.
- Note on searching MMS message:
When filtering by MMS in the inbox, the system will look for the incoming messages that are only MMS. So for example, when searching for MMS and have the "opt-in" and "reply" checked, the system will look for the messages that are (MMS & with type opt-in) OR (MMS & with type Reply).
