About Message Templates
Message Templates is a new feature. This feature is in it's initial launch phase and must be added to your account by your Mobile Strategists. Message Templates allow you to pre-pend or append your broadcast messages and opt-in paths with your Message Templates content. This might be a sponsorship message, a contest winner/loser message or some other set content you need to appear.
Please Note: Message Templates do not support Liquid or Mail Merge Features
Working with Message Templates
To build message templates navigate to the "Text Messaging" menu > "Message Templates".
From here you can add a new message template or a new contest-type message template.
New Message Template
Message Template Set Up
- Add a name for your message template
- Select whether you want to build a single message template or create a group of message templates. Select "Is this template a group?" if you would like to build a series of messages
- If you are building a message group select whether you would like your messages rotated through in the sequence you build or randomly
- If you are building a single message, you may create your content in the "Message Copy" box
Building a regular Message Template
Building out your template group
You can create your message copy, limit how many times that copy will be sent, remove that copy and move it up or down in the sequence.
Building a Contest Message Template
- Give your Contest Messaging Template a name
- Select how frequently you want a winning message to go out ("Winner every"...)
- Select the maximum amount of winner messages you want to go out ("Max winners")
- Build out your winner message and your loser message
Adding Message Templates to your Broadcast, Opt-In Path or Message Schedule
Once you've built out the content of your message template you'll want to activate that template within the rest of your campaign. Message templates may be attached throughout the Mobile Commons platform in Opt-In Paths, Broadcasts and Message Schedules.
Once you've built message templates a drop-down of the templates will appear in the "Save Response As" section, right above attachments.
Use the drop-down selector to pick the template or template group you want inserted into your message.
Upon selecting your template you will see placeholder text appear in your message (# # TEMPLATE # #) You may add content before or after this.
