Mobile Commons: If the Salesforce integration was down for a while, do we need to manually backfill records that should have been synced during the downtime?
Resolution Summary
Provided details regarding profiles that should have synced between the two platforms during the downtime
Answer
- Profiles That Should Have Synced from Mobile Commons to Salesforce
- Profiles created in MC during the sync downtime will need to be manually added to SF.
- Some phone numbers created during the downtime may have already been added to SF.
- These synced profiles would be those with a change in subscription status that triggered an intraday sync, creating a record in SF. However, profiles created in MC during the downtime, with no subsequent change in subscription status, would not have a record in SF and would need to be added manually.
- To identify phone numbers created in MC during the downtime, you can create a filtered group using the relevant date in the profile creation date filter and ensuring the email field is not blank
- Profiles That Should Have Synced from Salesforce to Mobile Commons
- The records that were expected to sync from SF to MC during the downtime will need to be backfilled into the platform.
- We don’t recommend modifying the active Custom Export setup in the integration
- Instead, we recommend preparing a separate file for these profiles/records, ensuring it meets the same criteria defined in the current Custom Export URL
- Additionally, this file should include an updated_at field with values corresponding to the time when the sync was down.
