Provided instructions for How to Set Up a Poll

Classic Platform

1. Login to your HIP
2. Click on the ‘Interactions’ Module
3. Under Campaigns on the left side menu bar: Click ‘New’
   

   

4. You will be taken into the set-up wizard.
5. Fill out the name of the campaign and the type.
   1. Type: Poll
      

      

   2. Click ‘Create Campaign’
   3. Make your poll ‘Active’.
   4. Setting up keywords and bounce-backs:
      1. Fill in the first ‘Component Name’ = this is the name of the option that the consumer is voting for, which may or may not be the same as the keyword. For instance, if the call to action says “Text B to vote for chocolate,” then the component is “chocolate” and the keyword is “B.”
      2. Next, fill in the first ‘Keyword’. The keywords are the words that the brand informs the consumer to text in.
      3. Fill in the ‘Outbound Message’. This is the message that the participant is going to receive when he or she votes for that particular component.
      4. Click ‘No’ on ‘Personalize’ drop down box
      5. Click ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for ‘Poll Results’. If ‘yes’ then the bounce-back message will include the current poll results and thus use up a portion of the remaining characters in the message.
      6. Click ‘No’ for ‘Trailer’ unless there are a series of sponsors or messages that need to be rotated through the bounce-backs, or if an instant winner is needed.
         

         

6. Scroll Down to ‘Profile Builder’. Fill in the drop-down box for ‘Campaign Class’
7. Click ‘Save Changes’
8. It will refresh the screen. You then need to add your second ‘Component Name’ and corresponding keyword(s) and bounce-back message for the next voting option.
9. Align the ‘Personalize,’ ‘Poll Results,’ and ‘Trailer’ options to align with the previous component.
10. Save all changes and make sure it is active
11. Check out your new poll in the on-air window (if you are a broadcaster), where you can see the LIVE results once you ask the poll OR you can hover over the campaign in Campaigns/View and click ‘Results’
