Details

You can create text contests and polls in HIP, which will allow your listeners/viewers to participate either by texting a keyword, or by entering online via your HIP storefront.

Online Contests

1. Create a text campaign
   1. Click on the Interactions Module
   2. Create Rebound Campaign
   3. Make it active
   4. Save
2. Make sure you enter the contest by texting in the keyword.
   NOTE: This creates an attribute that you need for the next step!
3. Click on “Online Contests”
4. Create new contest
5. Add the profile attribute from the Text contest you just created. This links them together.
6. Set the date/time parameters
7. Open the contest
8. Add contest details
9. Add entry confirmation message
10. Decide whether you want people to have to log into their text club account to enter, or not.
11. This configures/creates the contest so it can be viewed/entered online via the HIP Storefront
    

    NOTE: You must choose this option if you want to add an age restriction

    Draw a Winner:
    1. Winners are picked through Randomizer, just like you would for a regular text campaign.
    2. When in Randomizer, make sure to choose the option that allows you to add online entries. (See below)
       

       
       
       

17. Tracking Online Contest Entries: 

     

    If you want to track how many entries came in online, as opposed to via text; here’s how you do it:
    1. Click on Reports & Charts
    2. Under ‘Participation’, Click on ‘Storefront
    3. Choose the website (in this example, store2.hipcricket.com)
    4. Set your date parameters
    5. Set your parameters
    6. Run report
    7. Add a description, terms and conditions, and post entry message
    8. Save
    9. Now you’re ready to View/Vote via HIP StoreFront
    10. Click ‘Home’
    11. Click ‘Online Polls’
        
        This will allow you to track overall impressions (‘hits’) as well as drill down to unique visitors
        

        

 

Online POLLS

Follow same procedure as for creating Online Contests:

1. Create text poll
2. Make sure you text in a vote so you can add that attribute when you create the online poll
3. Create the online poll
4. Link the two by selecting the name of the text poll you just created
5. Configure your poll
   1. As you did in Online Contests; decide whether or not you want people to have to be logged into the HIP Storefront to participate.
   2. If you want to set age restriction on your poll entries, you have to choose the option that requires being logged in.
      

      

       
6. Add a description, terms and conditions, and post entry message
7. Save
8. Now you’re ready to View/Vote via HIP StoreFront
9. Click ‘Home’
10. Click ‘Online Polls’
11. Click ‘Polls & Contests”
12. Click ‘Polls’

View Results

1. Click on ‘HOME’
2. Click Listener/Viewer Interactions
3. Click Campaigns/View
4. Click Select your text poll
5. Click Click ‘View Results’

Results are also displayed as soon as you vote online

 

 

Track Online Poll Entries

Similar to tracking Online Contest Entries. (See above)

You can choose to see how many people have visited the polls page, or who have chosen to view the poll standings.
